Default 1995 f150 voltage gauge

Just wondering if any one can help. Voltage gauge in dash is stuck on 8volts. Battery light stays on. Checked battery and it is putting out 14.5 volts. Thanks

Have you tried removing the plug(s) on the alternator and reinstalling them?
If the charge signal from the alt falls below normal charging voltage ( poor connection) it will cause the battery light to come on.

I tried your suggestion, no luck. Just wondering if it could be the alternator, I installed a new battery about four months ago, cables are tight and in good shape.
