Default 2.7 Ecoboost underboost

Hi, I recently got a Ford F150 so this is my first post on this website. It’s a 2016 2.7 eco-boost with 120,000 miles. About a month ago, I started hearing the dreaded wastegate rattle but only when I would turn it on. But then three weeks ago it started rattling when I would drive and it would. be loud. I tried to use springs to try and reduce the rattling, but it still would rattle a little bit. Then yesterday I was driving up a hill and the wrench light came on and began to lose power so I pulled over to the side of the road. I thought that perhaps the springs were not allowing the waste gate actuator flap to close and build boost so I took them off and turned the truck off and on and the wrench light disappeared and. I proceeded to drive. I got home and scanned it but there was no codes or pending codes so I had no idea what it could’ve been if it wasn’t the turbo. Then today i was going up another hill and the same light came on and began to lose power so I pulled over and I brought my scanner with me so I scanned it and I got a pending code P0299. Then turned the truck off and on and began driving like normal. Do you guys have any idea of what it can be or any recommendations. it’s my commuter truck to college so I would like to get this sorted out as soon as possible. Thanks guys.

There are some basic checks you might do.
If you can, just check for any possible air leaks between the turbo and the intake manifold.

The rattle may have caused something to break or deform.
All diagnosis starts with a good and thorough visual inspection.
If you cannot find anything apparent, might consider having a good shop look it over.
