Default 2000 f-150 4.2 v6 Oil plug Stripped

I have a 2000 f-150 v6.Guy sold me the truck with a stripped out Drain plug and said nothing. He put a spring like thing in it. I think its called a heliacoil.. I changed the oil in it once and it held up.
My problem is the shavings that might get in it everytime doing so. Should I just tap it out and use a bigger drain plug. Or is there a better fix?

You may have to shop around a little because they do make a slightly oversized plug that will cut it's own thread and you never have to be concerned every time you do an oil change..

You might start with checking what some oil change places have available because I'm sure they come across this type problem from time to time.
