2004 F150 no crank no start
Intermittent no turnover no start. Now it won't start at all. Troubleshooting the best I can with a test light and found no power at the starter from the ignition switch. Fuses appear to all be good power to everything else in vehicle. I believe it's the ignition switch but I don't know what else to test. Any suggestions
I did try that, even though I changed out the neutral safety switch about a month ago. Thank you for your reply. I was able to jumped a solenoid and it started and ran. After I did that I was able to start it several times without any trouble. I'm going to replace the starter which has a solenoid attached.
If the vehicle has some high mileage , it might be wise to replace the starter assy.
Keep one thing in mind , however, you confirmed no power was getting to the starter solenoid and that condition can prevent a replacement starter from working also.
This is what we call "Getting to the root of the problem".
There could still be a problem with the ign sw, the wiring , the MLPS , manual lever position sw. formally known as the neutral safety sw. and you know how these things go , when you are in a hurry, dressed to go somewhere now the problem resurfaces
.Might be a good move to plan your test points ahead of time to determine just where you might lose the power from the ign sw to the solenoid.
