2006 Ford F150 fx4
I have a 2006 ford f150 fx4 with 144000 miles on it, the truck was running great then last week check engine light. I put my code reader and got plugs 3 and 5 misfire, camshaft sensor a bank 2, I brought it to my mechanic he said he thinks motor is shot when the truck heats up oil pressure drops and runs like crap, when it first starts and idles cold it runs nice. Anyone see this with their truck? Is it new engine time?

There have been some problems with the 5.4 engines and loss of oil pressure resulting in valve timing problems. One thing you can do is to have a reputable shop check the oil pressure with a manual gauge and see what happens when the engine gets warm. Don't know if this applies in your particular case, but when the wrong motor oil has been used for some time parts that help contain oil pressure wear faster and the result is a valve timing problem. Once that takes place performance is affected. Some folks have gone to a heavier weight of oil to try to temporarily correct the problem. It it does help it's only a band aid fix.
