2008 F150 4.6l Timing Cover Broken. Are the 4.6l and the 5.4l covers the same ones?
The pully boss broke off and can not be repaired.
Can not find a new one anywhere and dont want to put a used one on due to it possible breaking also due to age.
The part number is 7L3Z6019B from the local Ford dealer And when you punch that number in online it comes up a cover for the 5.4l

 

That post breaking off might be because the pulley froze and took the post with it.


A used one in decent condition should do the job as long as the pulley bearings are in good condition.
That is a routine maintenance item and can be prevented by replacing the pulley when the belt is replaced.

Is that how the post was broken ?

 

I took the pulley off thinking it was the bad one and it was good and spun freely, When I put it back on and tightened it down it snapped off in 3 pieces with about half the torque required. The belt tension pulley is the bad one but dont matter after the fact.
