2012 F150 Body Control Module (BCM)
The Body Control Module (aka Fuse Box Module bu passenger foot) for all 2012 + F150 can't be purchased from a scrap yard due to the programming of the module. One that comes from a pick and pulls, even with the key FOB and code for the door can't be programmed at the Ford Dealerships. I went through this whole issue several times before I found out about the constraints. I also sent my BCM to Florida to get tested/repaired and was returned just to be told it was non-repairable. Guess what, after removing all of the extra wirings for turn signals for my plow lights, it was working again (of course, after I ordered and waited several weeks to get a new one). After further research with two dealer shops, this is been a problem with this module for years, it is so sensitive that any additional witing, sometimes even extra LEDs will screw up the transistors in the module. I do run the headlights on a separate circuit (fuse and switch) without a problem, but no more signals! I am not sure of the end date for this issue, but have been told for F150s it is at least 12 & 13 model years.
I did appreciate all of the posts regarding this problem, but when none of the recommendations worked I went a different route.
