2013 ford f150 Ac problem
Hello everyone! I'm hoping I can gain some wisdom from this forum. I have a 2013 ford f150 that is having some ac problems. I turn on the ac and the compressor squeals for a couple seconds and then engages and starts to turn. I don't get any cold air. I hooked some manifold guages up to the high and low side and started the truck and ran it for 5 minutes and took the readings. The low side read 5 psi and the high side read just shy of 400 psi. Outside temp was about 65 degrees. Of what I've read, the low should be around 45 psi and the high should read about 200 psi give or take. What would cause the massive difference? I'm just looking for a place to start so I don't throw new parts here and there at it. Also I would probably have to take it to get the freon removed and vacuumed down before I tear into it. Thanks in advance!
Without actually looking at your particular vehicle ,not sure if it has a TXV or Orifice tube. I would suspect the malfunction is most likely originating there. They can get clogged if moisture of foreign matter get into the system.
