2014 F150 4WD 3.5L EcoBoost hard pedal at idle
I have a 2014 F150 4WD 3.5L EcoBoost. At idle I can pump the brake pedal several times and it will become hard as a rock and I lose breaking ability. This becomes a big problem backing up to something like a trailer where you are constantly hitting the brakes. If I rev the engine a little, maybe another 500-1000 rpm I feel the pedal go down and it brakes just fine. I assumed this was an issue with the booster and so I replaced it, but still have the same issue. I connected a vacuum gauge at the port on the booster hose, I measured almost 30 in-Hg at idle, doesn't seem to change if I rev the engine another 1000 rpm. If I press on the brake though it drops to below 10 in-Hg. At this point I believe it is the vacuum pump, but not sure if it could be something else. Thanks
