Default 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat 5L Automatic Shift Lever

Hi All,

I have an 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat 5L Automatic and I thought the gear shift lever on the steering column flashed the headlights when you pulled it towards the steering wheel?

Is this correct? if so it's not working.

USUALLY,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,to flash the headlamps you lift the multifunction switch lever on the driver's side of the steering column.

The gear lever is strictly for transmission gear selection.

Thanks Hanky, so to clarify pulling the gear shift lever towards you does flash the headlights?

i thought it would. I must have a something disconnected in my steering column then. Thank you.

To clarify,,,,the gearshift lever is on the passenger side of the steering column..

There should be a signal light lever on the driver's side of your steering column. THAT lever provides the flash to pass. Maybe it is not there.

If your dimmer sw is on the floor, you do not have the flash to pass feature..

Hi Hanky,
My turn signal on drivers side just does indicators and push for steering wheel tilt.

The high/low beam is a footswitch which is not a ‘flash’

the shift lever on steering column has a pull function but nothing happens. Hence me thinking that is the flash on the 1991 ford f150 xlt lariat.
