Default 2017 with 1 key

just bought a 2017 f-150 crew cab 5.0 L, from a non ford dealership. it only came with on switch blade key, lock, unlock and panic. Is there a cheaper route to getting another key instead of the dealership. Thanks!

Some locksmiths with the right equip and knowledge should be able to make you another key and code it to your vehicle. You need to have 2 working keys to program anymore yourself. Maybe the locksmith might provide a discount if you have more than one key made. Not cheap expect $75+ per key sometimes more, maybe less too!

I got. New Key $225. Just a key no function. When I use the key you must immediately start the truck or it will Alarm and disable. The second key did help me figure out the master code, cause Ford wanted $100. To tell me what it was. I am still on the fence on ford and wheather or not to buy new or not. The dealership that I went to for help only had their hand out to get paid and didn’t care. I am a big fan of this forum with folks like me!

Unfortunately, a lot of dealerships fall short of helping Ford owners. Yet, there are some that will provide good service and have an excellent reputation. The trick is to locate them and let other owners know. You might try a few others and you may find one that will help you and hope to keep you as a customer.
