48 f1 restore or rod?

Default 48 f1 restore or rod?

just bought a 1948 f1 thats rough and has the original flathead six thats free but needs carb work is it worth keeping? how did these trucks handle? any body know what top speed would be? it has a three speed trany. is the six a real turd? any info is good thanks

You have the original F series Ford truck. Now, what to do with it. Purest would tell you to restore it, because it is a first, but it also will be lots of work. Also, if you decide to rod it, lots more work. Just depends on what you want for a final outcome, how much money you have to invest, and just how long do you want to work on it. If done right, I could see a couple of years at least, before it sees the road.
