Default 5.0l v8 ffv

I'm looking at a nice looking 2011 Ford F150 Lariat with a 5.0L V8 FFV. The truck has 239,928 miles on the odometer and that is my main concern. The CarFax indicates it has been maintained on a regular basis. Although, I read somewhere that Ford has supplied some engines to taxi companies and that were often driven over 300,000 miles, but I don't recall which engine. The seller is asking $8,000. Would someone give me a well-advised opinion on purchasing this truck with such high mileage? Thanks!

Welcome to the site..

High mileage can be concern. One of my first questions would is the trans OE? Big ticket item should it go south. Well kept service pedigree included with the truck?
But with high mileage my secondary concerns for longevity is the potentials for cooling system failures, meaning just normal wear given its long life, but can strand you at the very least and/or have catastrophic cause for base engine issues if not detected. Nothing wrong with a higher mileage purchase IMO, but expect some not too distant repairs, and constant fluid checks and under the hood monitoring is good insurance...

Thanks for the advice. My thoughts sort of mirrored your ideas, so I greatly appreciated your input!

To me 11 grand for that truck is way too much.

Thanks! The guy was asking 8 grand not 11, but I took a pass on it.
