Default ABS pump runs after shutting off engine

I just bought a 2000 F-150 xlt.
I've had it for about a week and today when I returned from running a few errands, when I shut off the engine, the pump under the ECU for the ABS stays running. I unplugged it at the pump so my battery won't drain.
I believe the ABS is not necessary for normal braking operation. I hope this is true.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
Does anyone know why the pump wants to run after motor is off?

Sounds like the relay may be stuck allowing current to go to the pump all the time. Yes you will still have regular brakes with the pump unplugged.

Is there a place where I can find diagrams or a chart for the fuses and relays. I bought my truck from a private party and the owners manual was not with the truck. I have no idea which fuses or relays do what. Or an owners manual for the 2000 F-150 XLT
