2015 F150 had intermittent AC issue. Shuts off and then back on after a minute or so. Particularly if fan on high. Yesterday, it happened again several times and then the smell of burnt plastic filled the cabin. Tried to shut off AC several times and would not. Eventually I was able to shut if off.

Where should I start looking to find the short or where the burnt smell is coming from.

Welcome to the site..

My first thought would be the low pressure/cycling switch. At least rule it and the high pressure switche out.
