Default Engine scanner

I would like to ask for any suggestions on a Engine scanner/ code reader to purchase. I would like to keep it 300 or under. The units I have locally available are innova on oriley and amazon. I would be open to any brand or ordering from someplace else.
I would like it to work on obd1 my 1994 f 150 as well as obd 2 I have a 2010 rav 4 and of course some day I assume I would own newer.
I would like to be able to read what the engine and things are doing live , I think they call that live data as well as storing information.
Some I see also check emissions which most places do have that test now.
I see some nice models that will do lots but wont do both obd 1 and 2.
Also if the unit came with all needed accessories where more purchases weren't required would be a big plus.
Thanks for any suggestions

Did you ever check with your auto supply store, (NAPA , ADVANCE etc.) and inquire if they could get the little tool made by Thexton #443 , easily handle OBD I ?
Cheap, provided the codes by you counting the flashes of the LED and you checked the code against a code chart easily available on the net..Comes with directions.
OBD II , The more you spend the more a tool can do. If all you want is a code reader, they are all over, but if you want something more than just codes, you will need to shop around and see just what is offerred for the amount of $$ you want to invest.

Thanks Hanky;
I was more interested in finding a unit like baush or innova that would pick up the old truck but also be pretty efficient on the newer vehicles we own. Im just not sure of the quality of the brands and such. O riley carries innova an used to carry baush but not sure about why the change. Amazon has them all I guess.
far as I can tell from google the innova 5410 seems like a pretty good machine??
Thanks

We use a Autel code reader for non-ford at my dealer.
It works pretty good, cant do as much as our ford program but still decent.
Granted cost something like $600 or so I think but ours came with extra cables for older vehicles as well, can probably get cheaper without extra cables.
Autel MX808 I believe.
