Hey all! I am new to the forum. I just got a 92' F-150 with the 5.0 litre engine, it is a long bed standard cab. I got a great deal on it at $300, all it needed was a fuel pump and some cleaning. I was wandering, are there any problems that stand out with that year, anything to watch out for? What kind of good and inexpensive performance upgrades would you recommend? I am thinking cold-air intake, but I may just go for a good K&N air filter. What do you think? Thanks for help in advance.

 

Congrats on the great deal. Upgrades for the 5.0 are pretty common, so there should be plenty of things to choose from. The K&N and a new exhaust/headers would be a good start. New pulleys and an electric fan to replace the engine driven fan would give the engine a little extra hop, too.

 

I would also like to ask what kind of performance I can expect from the 5.0 engine? Thanks again.
