Default Ford F150 starting problem

Our 1995 Ford F-150 suddenly will not start if it has warmed up at all. First start is great, we let it run for a few minutes then shut it off and tried to restart. It turns over fine but won't fire. We put a new coil and ignition control on it but it didn't help. Anyone out there have suggestions?

I suspect there is a problem with the pick up coil inside the distributor.
If you replaced the ignition module on the outside of the distributor and the coil , lets see if we can narrow this down a little.
When cranking the engine over to start it, the check engine light goes out, normally.
Now, if you turn the key to crank the engine over when it will not start , tell us what the check engine light does. If it goes out the computer and ign module are getting the signal from the pick up coil inside the dist. If it doesn't go out, the pick up coil in the dist is open and requires replacement. This will require the distributor to be removed to accomplish this. Don't know if you want to get involved in doing this. It is not difficult, but requires a definite procedure .

Thank you it has been starting daily, but I no longer trust it? If it happens again, I will try do as you asked, I have been doing the bottom of the door, (welding) so I start it daily. Seems to get screwy when I let it sit.

Are you disconnecting the battery from the vehicle before doing any electric welding?

It creates voltage spikes in the electrical system that can affect electronics in the vehicle, in this case the ign module.
