Harmonic Balancer

RE: Harmonic Balancer
sorry dont have access to any pic's ,, with the timing cover in place , an the seal instaled ,you need to make sure theres no groove worn in the shaft other wise it will leak , they make a speedie sleeve kit for it if it does have a groove. Comes with instructions on how to install , polish the shaft up real good , clean with some brake kleen . put a dab of loctite over the shaft , install the ring , put a driver over it , Smack it with a hammer till seated , An then pull off the excess lil tab that sticks out . I lube up the shaft with the key way , put a board 2x4 over it , ( if I dont have a long enough bolt )wack it a couple times with a dead blow hammer , to seat it cause you can never get it started with the standard bolt , so you gotta tap it on , you dont want to hit it directly with a hammer . Put a dab of silcone around the large flat washer , an put a dab on the threads where it enters the crank , grab the ole ingersall rand 231 , an run her in,, if you gotta crank it in by hand I try to lock down the flywheel to tighten it up so it wont turn on me, wedge a big screwdriver in the fly teeth , if its in the truck , Then bolt on the pulley hub,..... The ole 460 were tricky they had that 2 piece set up to add extra balance to the crank...
