Default Help troubleshooting driverside front end issue

I have a 04 ford f-150 4x4. I have noticed a noise in the front end that sounds like you have a bad tire. I have replaced al four tires and still of the noise. I am trying to narrow it down but have run out of ideas as to what it could be. There is no more than normal play in setering wheel. The noise gets louder when I turn the wheel to the left. Any ideas would be greatly apperciated!

Are you talking about a clunking sound? Check to make sure your brake calipers and pads are tightened and seated properly.

I think you may be on to something. I dont think I started noticing the noise until after I chaged the front pads. Thanks for the advice

If the sound is a roaring noise that sounds like a chopped tire and gets louder when you turn i think you are a victom of a bad wheel bearing. When a wheel bearing goes out you get a grinding or humming noise witch will increase or decrease while turing to the opposing side. Jack the truck up and leave in N put it is 2 wheel drive and spin the wheel and listen for a roar.. Also could be a bad CV joint. The joint soes not have to be leaking grease or have to grease to cause a noise.

My 1989 ford bronco has a roaring noise that seems to be coming from the front end. It gets louder the faster you go with a small viberation also. When going throug a curve to the left it almost makes a scrubing sound.

Sounds like you may have a wheel bearing going bad.
