Default How to test the Catalytic Converter

It seems as if I get pieces of glass or metal jumping when the motor is revving up.. Can that be the Catalytic Converter pieces coming apart inside... How can I test or clean it out... It is like popcorn going off in there.. I know the sound is coming from underneath and just a pain in the ***..lol

If a converter is plugged/restricted it can definitely cause a power loss.
If you connect a vacuum gauge to the intake manifold vac at idle should be around 17-19 in.

When the engine RPM is raised to around 2500 RPM if the vacuum continues go down, the exhaust system is plugged/restricted.
