Angry OBD Scanner created an issue

2008 F150 XLT 2WD 4.6L ....Long story short - I bought a OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner to read and diagnose occasional codes (not for anything specific) I ran the diagnostic for Mode $06 and missed reading second part of the warning about "are you sure you want to proceed - turn engine off " ...I ran the diagnostic with the engine on and now problem immediately
No power to Dashboard Gauges
No power to Power Windows
No power to Radio
There is no power to fuse R401 and F22 ...I jumped 12v fusable link into those locations and now Windows and Radio have power (though its constant not accessory)
Gauges still do not work (dash lights are ok)
What is your recommendation - is this something I can fix or take it to ford and let them reflash my PCM ??
PS I can re que Mode $06 test on scanner / turn key off and power comes back to all affected listed above for 15 seconds then goes off ...
TIA

You probably will do best if the vehicle went to Ford.
This is why I believe this,
Starting with 2008 year vehicles, a network called controller area network , CAN, was utilized.
As part of that network, the instrument cluster, the radio, driver's door module are all modes in the network. If any of these modules fail to work ,for whatever reason,
communication will not take place and some things will not work. Most folks are not familiar with this system and special tools, special information and knowledge of how the system works are necessary I believe there are problems that you are not equipped to handle.

thats pretty much what I thought - some module was shutdown communication wise - so yes its going to Ford ...the scanner manufacturer has agreed to reimburse the cost ..Will see how that goes...

Thank you for the response

If you would,
please consider keeping us in the loop.
We all try to help one another and if the company is that considerate, there may be others that might consider trying to diagnose their vehicle's problem.

We all make mistakes at one time or another and if we can help someone with a good piece of equipment and a company that will help if we get into trouble due to some unfortunate thing happening, it is just good business sense,, . Thank You.
