Default PLEASE Help, Very confused and Scared

Hello, i just signed up, i am 18 and i own a 1992 F-150 With the 5.8 liter engine. It has been running fine, but a few weeks ago i started leaking coolant I have no idea were it is coming from is the problem. With the engine on it leaks from god knows were, and the fan blows it away from the original spot of leaking. It does not overheat and still runs fine, no white smoke, but i have not really smelled the exhaust to see if it is being burned. I just cannot figure out were the leak is coming from and it is really starting to worry me, i love my truck, and it only has 54000 miles on it, i am the third owner. I have done some mods and i do not have the money to buy a new truck, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of were this is coming from?

Thanks, Jake

Welcome to the site..

Could be a 'variety' of places.. With the engine off, look under the truck 'up' at the water pumps nose just behind the pump pulley.. You should barely be able to see a 'weep hole' on the pumps casting.. Look for coolant tracts there running down indicating a failing mechanical seal.. You may also see coolant running down the lower hose from the pump from the seal.. Also, check all the hose/s for pin holes, ifat an original 54K they may still be original for the most part.. Timing cover gaskets can 'squeeze out' or deteriorate as well, weeping coolant.. Also, the plastic radiator tanks can leak from the tank o ring failing.. Common on older units.. Freeze plugs to heater core are a possibilty.. Best thing to do would be to get a 'good' flashlight, and if possible pressurize the system, or check it hot and try and pin point the leaks origin..

If its still leaking after you check everything hayapower mentioned, check the heater.
