Project Blue Dragon - Custom Overhaul / Electrical / Carbureted Help needed
Welcome to my Blue Dragon project
Some Background Info
The truck started life as a 4.9L that was EFI, around 2017 the electrical system was giving me trouble and I was getting tired of dealing with junk new part, so I talked my wife into letting me spend some on the parts to convert to a carburetor system, With some help from an old friend / boss I was able to overhaul the engine. Installed a single barrel carburetor and had to make a custom wooden spacer plate to lift the carburetor off the manifold, so the butterfly would actuate correctly. Later I had a steel spacer made to replace the wooden one.
Some of What I am wanting to do
Brake Down of My List
Parts I am planing on using.
I am getting my parts from: www.speedwaymotors.com and Amazon

Some of What I am wanting to do
- Upgrade intake manifold and carburetor to a four barrel.
- Remove all wiring harnesses and computers.
- Remove dash and build new custom dash.
- Fix all rust holes and replace some body panels.
- Replacing the fuel system.

Information I Need to Acquire
1) Since I will be making a new wiring harness, I would like to redo the ignition / spark control brain. ( if that makes sense ) What can I use?
2) Is there a way to work the A/C system with out using the PCM?
3) I am thinking about how I would like the new gauges to work; I know that for most of the gauges I would like digital, but for the tachometer and speedometer. I would like to do both analog and digital. So I am think the best thing to do would to make a custom PCB and use something like Raspberry PI to be the brain.? Do you think that would work or is there a better way?
4) The fuel system is going to have a return line, but I am trying to understand what is better for the fuel filters; stainless steel mesh or paper mesh and what would be the best or better setup for the fuel system, like placments; I.E. pre & post filters, if regulator should be before or after the fuel logger?
5) If I am using a 12 PSI max pressure. Then should the regulator be rated up or more than 12 PSI?
6) Would the carburetor I picked out work with the 4.9L engine or would that be to much CFMs?
