I replaced a leaking water pump, thermostat, and a couple of hoses. After reinstalling the drive belts, I noticed the outer belt was rubbing against an oil cooler hose coming from the lower radiator hose just above the oil filter. I hadn't done any work in that area, so I was surprised. I thought maybe it wasn't close enough to make a difference after I had reverified that I had everything put back correctly. After starting the engine, I could hear the rub and after running for some time, I noticed that it started to scar the hose.
I feel like I have reverified the installation and routing of the drive belt a bunch of times and simply don't see where the problem is. Any words or guidance would be helpful. The impacted hose is right above the oil filter.
