solnoid pack problem?

Sorry work shop manual is not great on that old of vehicles and way older then what I have worked on.
It does sound like a faulty solenoid though, usually we replace the entire main control, which includes the solenoids. That has fixed quite a few hard/loud shifts that Ive dealt with. There is extra programming on newer vehicles when replacing the main control though.
