I have an error code for my vehicle speed sensor on my 1996 F-150. I replaced it and reset the codes and it was fine for a week and then the AOD malfaction light and check engine light came back on with the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the real issue may be? How to fix it? Would a "performance" speed sensor do it? Has anyone else ever had this problem? Thanks in advance.

 

Please post the exact code number along with engine size. We can look up more information with those.

 

Error code is P0500. Engine is 5.0 L. I think the trans is an EAOD.
Speedometer is malfaltioning too.
