swollen lug nuts 2018 f150 xlt
fairly new to the forum, has anyone else had to replace lug nuts on an f150. i was told by the service manager that this is a problem with the f150 because the steel nuts are covered in a chrome cap and water gets inside and swells the cap and they are difficult to remove.
so they had to replace them when they rotated tires. it sounds like it should be a recall thing, but apparently there was a class action suit in Fla. and it failed. it cost 130.00. it's a 4 year old truck!

Have seen quite a few of them.
All we did was to use a slightly larger socket to get them off. Then replace them with new ones.
They are decorative and exposed to all sorts of corrosive material. Don't know if it could be classified as a safety item, but Approx 32 per vehicle can add up to a sizable expense. Ford is not the only one to have this problem.
