What size tires to put on my truck
Im new to Ford Forum and i have a 2000 F150 XLT Regular cab 8ft box with the 4.6liter V8. I have been considering a lift kit and bigger tires on the truck now for awhile, but i don't know what size tires to get. A buddy of mines father put a 3inch lift and Coopers 33/12.50R17 MT tires on and the lift looks great but i feel like the tires look small. Im putting the tires on my stock rims which are 17s. i was wondering if any one could help me out if i wanted to put 35inch tires on, if i would lose alot of Horsepower or not. i have pretty much decided on the 3 inch lift but i just needed some help picking the right tires i don't want to spend the money and then not be happy with them. All comments are appreciated. Thanks for the help

RE: What size tires to put on my truck
i have 33" all terrain on my truck(06 f-150) and i havent lost next to nothing on horsepower, the only thing that i lost is braking power, but you can just replace your stock rotors and pads and be fine. im not sure if the old version f-150s have the same wheel-well space as the new ones but i can go to 35s and still probably wont rub with not lifts. i might have to shave alittle bit of the front part of the bumper but it wont be too much. also if you think you lose alot of horsepower you cant always add exhausts, headers, air intake, and/or a chip to bump it back up to regular if not more. good luck on whatever size tires you put on.
