1998 E350 drivers seat upgrade
Newbie here.
I'm looking to improve my drivers seat. After about an hour of highway driving my tail is not comfy. Lack of armrests is another down side to long highway trips. The aftermarket van seat vendors have tons of nice seat options, add the lumbar support, add the extra seat springs (for big boys), add a swivel base, and add the platform base (why isn't this included?)....and you're at around $1,000 for a basic, cloth seat. Another $$ grand for the passenger seat. (My clean church van only cost me $3,500).
Has anyone here attempted to swap an F250 front captains chair into a Ford van? Used truck seats can be located reasonably priced.
Thanks for any input.

The problem with adding seating in most cases is, bolting or capturing the floor reinforcement area. Same with seat belting. Direct bolting to the floor pan isn’t enough.. Making some brackets etc. possibly welding to the existing/new seat framing and capturing the old seat placement foot print shouldn’t be too difficult depending on seat choice.. As long as adding doesn’t raise seat height for head room.. Possible to add under reinforcement, but I’d try and capture OE mounts..
