Default 1999 f-350 7.3

My check engine soon light came on and it went off after cranking engine for a couple days. Now the Check Engine Soon light stays on and the engine shuts down after about 2-5 minutes! re-crank and the same thing happens again! Any ideas/suggestions it might be the cause! It appeared a couple days after topping off diesel fuel at MurphysUSA where I have always got my fuel. It has 80k mikes and I seldom drive it which is the reason for the low mikes!

The fuel topping off may or may not apply.
Does the "WATER IN FUEL" lamp stay on when cranking the engine? If it stays on, check fuel filter for water contamination.

Check for codes with a good code reader. ForScan Lite on a smartphone will work. You will need an OBDII adapter.

Also, have you ever replaced the cam sensor?
