Default 2000 F250 Doors Autolock while standing still

My 2000 F250 diesel locks me out when I get out of the truck with the engine running. It doesn't happen right away, but if I leave the door closed and the engine running for a couple of minutes, I'm locked out. I tried the procedure for disabling the autolock feature, but get no horn chirp and the procedure doesn't do anything. Usually, this isn't an issue, but it's been damned cold here in Colorado and I like to warm up the diesel before I take off right now. I need to make sure I have the spare keys in my pocket, or I'm screwed. Help!!

Sometimes a capable scan tool in the "Special Functions" section might permit that to be disabled. You will need to find a shop and maybe a dealership with the correct tool to program that feature or check its function.

Any idea why I can't disable it with the key on/off lock/unlock sequence?

I'll check for shops with a good scan tool. Thanks.
