Default 2007 F-350 6.0 Hard Start & Rough Idle at Start Up

Hi All,

I just acquired a 2007 F-350 6.0 it's in great shape but when started cold it takes more cranking than it should after glow plug light goes off and it idles very rough for a couple of minutes then smooths out.
what could be causing this? I'm thinking fuel system getting air and letting the fuel bleed back while sitting. Any advice on where to start looking? Thanks

Might be a good move to verify the glow plug system is working.

Do you have any kind of test equip ? A simple test light can help with some of the answer.

FORScan Lite on a smartphone (iphone), or full version on a Windows laptop, or even Torque Pro on an Android device will get you the ability to read codes engine Parameters and to pull codes. These are essential for any owner to troubleshoot his/her own 6.0L. The cost for these are reasonable and the learning curve isn't too significant. Anyone worth their salt will be hesitant to guess.
