2015 F250 Aux switch use
I am installing a amateur radio transceiver in my truck. It is recommended to connect power wires directly to battery. I am thinking about using one of the aux switches to get power to the radio so that I can disconnect the power when I am not in the vehicle.
Not being familiar with this vehicle, or having a manual with wiring diagrams to help me, I don't know where to access or connect the radio power wires to the appropriate aux switch.
If anyone here has knowledge of this, I would appreciate if you would share it with me.
thanks
Ken

Ken,
How many amps will you be drawing?
Is the aux s/w already installed and if so the wire gauge associated with it can give you some clue on available amperage. Maybe there is a fuse associated with it as well.
Best wishes,
Eric

By Aux, your referring to one of the Upfitter switches? Depending on the amp draw as Eric mentioned, if a significant ad in load, a relay in place would protect the switch circuit. Customer access wires are already provided through the firewall. If you need specific schematic help, post your question..

Thank you for the replies.
From further research I found a wiring diagram pertaining to the switches and relays.
Yes I am referring to the the four Upfitter relays which are associated with four AUX switches in the dash.
The Transceiver requires at least a 22 amp fuse.
There are two 30 amp fuses provided for relays 1 & 2. When I decide to continue on, I will probably replace a 30 amp fuse with the appropriate amp fuse in one of these for transceiver power.
There is one 15 amp fuse provided for relay #3
and one 10 amp fuse provided for relay #4
I have found information in the owners manual where the location of the four pig tail wires which come from the relay contacts are located.
The write up on this subject says that they are located to the right of glove box in kick panel.
I have not physically searched for them though. But I intend to do so.
