Anyone know what the 18 red led lights on the upper dash on the drivers side are for? They reflect off of the windshield and go off after starting the engine. Is this the accident avoidance warning light strip?
also I cannot locate the “wait to start” lamp in the instrument cluster.
thanks

If you are looking for a wait to start lamp we assume it is diesel powered.
Most of the time when we turned the ign on the warning lamps go through a check sequence then go out. The wait to start usually took longer to go out , especially if it was cold out.
What you have is new to me, but I'm pretty sure you checked what your owner's manual says regarding starting a cold engine.
Would you be kind enough to share that info with us, thanks.

yes diesel. I’ve searched the book and it list all the warning lights but doesn’t show where they are on the instrument cluster. Usually when you turn on the ignition ALL indicator lights in the cluster come on as a bulb check. In my picture I would assume the wait to start light would be in the left cluster? Maybe there is no light check and it’s not cold enough for it to come on? My old Chevy 2500HD it always came on until the glow plug warmed up and then went out probably 5 to 10 seconds.
The 18 red LED lights above the steering wheel on top of the dash I have no clue what that is and the manual doesn’t mention anything about it!🤷♂️

They do come on when the ignition is turned on and then go off. In the manual it list the “wait to start” light as the usual double loop indicator, but doesn’t show in the instrument cluster. There is no information on the led light above the dash. I’m calling the dealer, but they probably don’t know either 🤣🤣🤣
As I suspected the 18 led lights on the dash ARE the collision avoidance warning lights.
As far as the “wait to start” indicator there isn’t one even though the manual references it 🤣
no wonder I couldn’t find it!
yeah I know it’s too expensive to update the manual so just ignore it! According to the dealer this has been eliminated for several years now with the newer diesel trucks!
