Default 5.4 has hesitation

I have a 2001 f250 with a 5.4 engine. A couple of days ago i noticed a slight miss, so i changed the spark plugs, fuel filter and air cleaner. The truck has 100,000 miles so i figured it was about time.
But it didn't help i still have a miss / hesitation. Any help with this matter would be appreciated.

Default RE: 5.4 has hesitation

it could be a number of things, you could have a bad coil, you dont want to buy all of the coils they are pretty expensive, one way to test them indavidualy is pull the coils but leave the wires connected, pull the spark plug and insert it into the coil, then start the motor with it pulled out(don't let it ground on anything) and watch the plug fire, repeat with all spark plugs. look for one that doesn't fire, or has irratic fires compared to the other cylinders and that should be your bad coil
