89 F250 rear fuel pump not working
I have an 89 F250. The rear fuel pump hasn't worked since I bought it, but the gage would indicate how much fuel was in the tank.
I assumed the pump was bad, so I replaced the pump, and put everything back together. But now it doesn't work and the fuel gage always reads empty.
I'm thinking it's some sort of electrical or seletor switch issue. I'm checking and cleaning the ground first, but any insights would be greatly appreciated.

A reminder since you now know and that is we never condemn a fuel pump without verifying it has a good ground and is getting power when it is supposed to.
It would be a wise move to acquire a test light to verify where and when you have power at the pump. Until you can do that ,the sky is the limit and anything could be wrong.

I'm gonna have a chat with my local mechanic in the morning.
