Hello:

2022-F:350 / 7.3L Gas w/ 10spd Automatic Transmission:

I dropped the transmission pan and replaced the filter / Re-installed pan, added 5 Qts of Motorcraft Mercon ULV Transmission Fluid / Oil was coming out of the Level indicator / Started Truck, idled 10secs in Park / 10secs in Drive / 10secs in Reverse / Repeated Cycle / Transmission was not engaging, realized that the On-Dash Shift Indicator was in 10th gear. Whether I used the manual gear selection, or left in Drive, transmission will not shift out of 10th gear. Never able to move truck

Any ideas?

 

5 quarts? Doesn’t seem like enough fluid. Maybe recheck dipstick.

 

That does sound like the logical issue. This is the second time changing the transmission oil. From my notes, I added 6Qts for initial startup / I added 2 Qts and the shifter is back to normal
