2022 f250 gear shift indicator
My gear shift indicator is off. When in D it shows neutral. R is P. How do I align the column shift to the desired position.
2022 F250, 14,000 miles, column shift.
2022 F250, 14,000 miles, column shift.

You may need to remove a small plastic portion of the dash just under the steering column, usually only 2 screws, and you will see a circular tube that goes around the steering column and to that piece of metal is usually a small size red cable that is clipped to that tube. That little cable is what moves the sliding indicator in the dash.
It is usually connected to a little spring so that when the tube is moved by the shift lever that cable also moves to indicate the shift position selected. What is usually done is to pull the clip off the tube, and if the shift lever is in the park position , just position the clip onto the tube so the indicator is in the correct location. It is much simpler than all this wind, but now you should have some idea how to correctly position that clip with the little cable attached to it.

Thanks, I figured it was pretty simple.
