Default air in fuel system

Greetings, and thanks to everyone for offering advice. I have a 1991 F-350, 7.3 diesel. I had a broken fuel line and a few rotted fuel hoses which I replaced. It was just a matter of cutting out a bad section and replacing it with new hose. nothing from the fuel tank itself was disconnected. Apparently there is now some air in the system. When I tried starting it afterward, it started right up at first but then died after a few seconds. Now I can not get it to start. Can anyone tell me how to correct this problem of having some air in the fuel system? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks again.
