Death Wobble?
Hi all: I have a 2018 F250 Super Duty that has been doing the "death wobble" (per other descriptions I have seen that fit it). They crazy thing is, it ONLY occurs randomly (once a month ish) and ONLY after making a left turn. I can feel a slight "slip" when turning left and know it is coming. I can pull over and shut off my truck for approximately 5-10 minutes and it resets. Sometimes I get the Hill Start Assist error among the ABS one. But they do not come on every time. Recently went from 37's to 35 tires and there was no change. It is very unpredictable. Hard to take it to a mechanic when it resets after stopping and no pattern to when it will happen. Not interested in paying crazy money to drop off to shop for them to attempt to "find" a problem. It looks like many of you have encountered the same problem. Just can't figure out a) why it only occurs on left turn and b) why it resets after stopping. GREATLY appreciate any feedback.
Could be a dozen possibilities. Something easy to check, rotate the wheels from left to right and see if the wobbling follows when making right turn. If that's the case your wheel is likely bent on your driver side.
Additionally, when your truck is running large wheels or tires or with lift kit, you will also need both caster and camber kits. And how do you know your caster is not currently out of spec? Say OE spec on caster is 2.2 to 4.9, try to adjust it to above 3 and go higher to even 4.5 is still within spec. If you didn't get the caster kit you placed too much load and strain and your control arm bushings probably need to be replaced.
