Diagnostic F250 93 351w (No Coolant = Truck to stall)
Hi,so i have a f250 93 351w and one of my frost plug is broken since i had water in my coolant system and it froze, i was wondering if two things could be related. no coolant cause truck to stall after about 1min of driving ( i needed to change parking spot)

How low did the temp get when it blew the freeze plug out?
A good place to start would be to pressure test the cooling system and see what you get before going any further. If it holds pressure, start looking for other causes. Sometimes moisture gets into vacuum lines and raises heck with MAP sensors which could cause a stalling issue.

well, there is no pressure at all, my coolant just pukes out, its hard to get access to the freeze plug since i think its the one right under the engine mount. since replacing the plug is kinda of a big job for me and that i dint think having no coolant in the engine would make it stall i was trying to get info of what it could be since i dont want to end up putting too much money on the truck. but i understand that its probably a long shot with the minimum info i have at the moment.
the real reason i am looking for answers is that a talked to a guy that told me that when coolant freezes it could cause the engine to crack and that scared the **** out of me

That was the purpose of "Freeze out plugs" to help prevent the block from cracking if and when the coolant/water froze. They were even in some engine head assys for the same reason, but were also used to clean out foundry castings from internal passages.
I don't know of any other way to confirm if addl damage was done to the engine other than to repair the blown out plug and fill and pressure test the system.
