does anyone have a copy of the wiring diagrams for the 2006 F250, 6.0l diesel...
my side markers and license plate lights arent working so I tried a new bulbs and still nothing.... I just got the truck and it seems that all the connectors the sockets were cut and the wires just spliced... to make things worse, there's wires cut and just hanging, wires added, wires splices (cramp on connectors) at 3 spots in a 2ft span... anyways... I was hoping I can get rid of all the 'extra' wires and trace the original wires for shorts
If the wires where just cut, matching them to the color/tracer should be fairly straight forward. Meaning, there’s not a huge amount of choices in circuits for license lamp and markers. I can send the schematics if need be..

thanks, yeah, I guess the wiring diagram wont show much... I guess what I really need is to figure out the routing, the connection points... I know the wire is brown - its just a matter of tracing it... I just dont understand why every brown wire is cut just before the bulb socket... the new wire they ran is quite easy to trace since its basically over top of everything but I would like use the original brown wire if possible...
when I turn on my lights, the headlights works but not the maker lights, the rooftop clearance lights work and so does the tail lights but not licence plate lights.
when I 'supply' 12v at the socket, both bulbs on both front side come on (as least the bulbs are good) but roof top and none of the rear come on... so seems like there's a few shorts
to make it more interesting, I pulled the dash front off and on the back of the light switch, they spliced a yellow wire going through the dash and up the pillar, on top of the pillar, there's NO yellow wire but now its orange, if I pull back the headliner, now its red/white.. lol... kinda hard to trace if they change the color every two feet.. lol.. but rooftop light work so I'll leave it alone
If Hayapower can forward a schematic diagram to you I would suggest you request it.
Instead of having several places where the multiple splices have been added leaving "several" places for potential problems, knowing where the multiple piece wire goes can save you a lot of time and unnecessary tracing. You are doing the right thing by getting rid of somebody's butcher work and running the correct type and gauge wire.
A job well done provides a lot of satisfaction and a lot less worry about what can became a problem up the road.
If the wires to the sockets/connectors were just cut, meaning no wire harness sections were shortened and you want to reconnect all back to OE,, we should be able to use the schematic info and I can give you some test points forward of the lights to check for drop outs. Gotta wonder what the PO was trying to accomplish..
yeah, if it worked then maybe I would leave it be... but if I have to trace the wires for shorts, might as well trace the original wire...
here's a pic behind the headlight assembly
I emailed you some info for the rear lamps, as well as the heads. You may not need all the pages, but its the whole cell. If you want to preview any of the blue scripted/numbered areas for connectors, splices or grounds, shoot me the numbers in a PM.

thanks... I think I need all the help I can get
I'll let you know of the connections I come across
I guess the truck comes with a hard-wired battery charger... and they have a marine battery in there

does anyone what this device is? I guessing ti was for daytime running lights since two of the wires were connected to the headlight bulb.. if it is, it doesnt work so I just cut it off... the lights still work
