Default F350 Theft

I have a 2019 F350 Platinum and recently found out that these trucks are among the most stolen vehicles. According to my research, thieves use a receiver/transmitter to pick up and then clone the keyless entry FOBs we all have on our newer vehicles with push button start. They then just open the door, crank the truck and drive away. My question is: Has Ford looked at this problem of cloning their FOBs and are they working on a way to prevent it?

What you might consider,
Have a trusted shop install a toggle or rocker switch in a secret location known only by you ,in your vehicle and have it interrupt the stop light power to the Security/start system.
As you know the vehicle will not start if you do not depress the brake pedal. All the interrupting switch would do is prevent the system from getting the OK to start.

The only problem is if you forget to use it.

Other option I've heard people using is called a faraday bag, no idea how well they work though.

My wife and I both carry a faraday pouch for our FOBs. But I'm reading that the pouches fail pretty easily. I understand that Toyota FOBs have a feature that turns off the the transmission. No signal is sent between the FOB and the vehicle until the operator turns it back on. That seems mighty useful to me.

Thanks. Really good information and yes I am considering a kill switch. How many amps should the switch need to handle?

If you get a heavy duty one, nothing to worry about.
