To answer your question more info is needed. Is it 4X4, 4X2, dual rear wheels, four wheel disc brakes?

sorry..i should have included all of that..

its 4wd, 4 wheel disc brakes, dually diesel...

it is my understanding that the 2wd does require you to take apart the bearing assembly, but the 4wd does not. i got a dealer quote of 600 dollars for front pads and rotors...i can get the parts for under 200.

On your truck, just remove the wheel hub on the outside, eight nuts, and then the rotor should slide off, or if it's stuck you might have to persuade it.

so, i pulled the front wheels, and it definately is not a slide off rotor...the condition wasnt bad enough for me to need to tear into it. however, i was told by you, and a handful of other people (and the parts store) that it should be a simple slide off although it isnt..any ideas on what my issue is here? perhaps im dealing with some odd trimline?

It is a slide off but duallys have an adaptor that bolts over the rotor. You need to remove the 8 nuts that hold the adaptor on and then the adaptor and rotor will come off.
