Default Help needed confirming fuel filter problems-

I have a 1990 F-350 [7.5L] and am having challenges with acceleration. The circumstances are -

1. Switching from front to rear fuel tanks - experience intermittent hesitation
2. While driving and accellerating [pedal to the floor] power does not transfer to accelerated speed - just revs the engine higher
3. While driving on the rear tank truck tends to sputter - at any speed

I have owned my truck for (4) years and purchased it with low mileage and low maintenance (most parts look to be original). Are these indications of the fuel filter/s failing or a greater fuel issue (i.e, fuel pump, fuel line/tanks, etc.)? Thanks!
