Default Metal Klinking Noise in Tranny Tailshaft

Have picked up occasional light metallic klinking noise in tailshaft of 2012 6.7 6 spd auto trans. Towing 15k 5th wheel RV, no issues. Trannny temp 194-203 degrees, no vibration, hum or chucking/slippage. Took to Ford dealer, said need new transmission, on 6 week + backorder, $6k. Took to Mr.Transmission, basically same story. Have worked on transmissions/drive train on other vehicles in past. Seems more like u-joint/needle bearing issue to me. Any ideas???

Did either of them drop the driveshaft to rule out u-joint possibility?
Not difficult to remove 4 bolts/nuts and drop shaft to see if noise is till present also can make good inspection of u-joints at that time.

Nope, that's what I think it is. Will get a mechanic buddy of mine to do that for me (I don't get dirty anymore). Thx
