Default Need more power

I have a 03 f250 super duty 7.3 liter. I'm trying to get more power out of it for towing our 34 ft trailer. I want to be able to get better mileage as well as towing power. If anyone can help that would be great. I don't want to sell the truck but if I have to I will to increase power

Thumbs up

Welcome to the site..

Easiest way to add a little extra towing grunt or 'daily driver' power is to use a chip.
TS Perormance and others make a 6 position selectable performance chip with nice features like fast idle for warm ups, and a quiet mode to reduce idle noise when waiting or in service lines. Intakes, exhaust help as well depending on how far you want to go. The 6/chip doesn't require any additional hardware other than stock profile in the lower hp tunes and make a significant difference even at 45-65hp gains for hp/torque. The tune also increases auto trans line pressure to help with clutch application, and shift scheduling. When adding power there's always risk, that said,, if the power gains don't go extreme 100hp plus, then not as much of an issue. My 02, not over 65hp if you want the benefit of the extra power and want to see some MPG increase.

My 05 runs the Diablo Predator flash tune at 65 hp gain, so near 400hp.. If I don't 'play' with the power, I usually see a slight increase in MPG, but in reality, generally you get the extra power at no loss of MPG's.
