Default New 7.3 Motor any good for towing fifth wheel?

I am in the early stages of buying a new truck to tow my 29 ft Fifth wheel and was initially going to buy another diesel, I have been reading about the new Ford 7.3 gas motor and everything I've read sounds good. depending on the gear ratio chosen, the 7.3 tows less than 400 lbs than the diesel. As great as everything on paper says, its not the same in my opinion on real world driving. I was wondering if anyone here owns the new 7.3 and tows with it? I don't feel my trailer when towing with my truck, but i have reviews that some people do feel the trailer when towing with the 7.3. Some also say that its OK because they tow less than a 100 miles. Well, personally, it doesn't matter how far or less you tow if the drive isn't comfortable and makes one feel like the truck is struggling or white knuckling the steering wheel because of the drive. Most of my trips with my trailer will be less than 100 miles, but I also want it to comfortably pull the trailer 3000 miles if I want. Any reply's would be greatly appreciated. Side note: our trailer weighs 9800 lbs, as its a "half ton towable" but we would like to possibly upgrade to a heavier trailer.
