Hi I've been upgraded from. A ranger to a F250 Tritain V8 5.4 l super Duty ... 1999 230,000 km. I checked all the fluids and everything on Thursday all were great I drive for about 30 minutes on Highway pull In to Super Store shut the truck off for about 15 minuts start it up sounds like a big search N Rescue Helicopter .... some nice fellas checked the belt and the pull spiņers all was good .. said he thought nothing major stock car mechanic I got on the road again neve made the noise again until I drove to gas stain then when I started it .. did it again ... I did make a video for the sound if that can be posted. . Any Ideas ?

 

You didn't say what year and what engine, if a spark plug is loose maybe that could be the sound. Usually the sound doesn't go away if it is a plug.
Any check engine light?
